A haunting, lyrical book with a storyline that holds your attention. It is worth the read for the lyrical prose if nothing else, but the story of human lives and emotions is the icing on the cake. Highly recommend this book. Mr Martin has a true gift for putting humanity on paper.

Life began again for Dylan Styles when his beloved Maggie awoke from a coma. A oma brought upon by the intense two day labor that resulted in heartbreaking loss. In this poignant love story that is redolent with Souther atomospher, Dylan and Maggie must come to terms with thier past before they can embrace thier future.

Can't say enough for Charles Martin's books. Each one has grabbed my attention and emotions and kept me hanging on to the end. He addresses real struggles that real people might experience and you become invested in their outcomes. That said, the book 'Maggie' was book 2 of the series and I highly recommend that you do not read this without reading book 1, 'The Dead Don't Dance' first. Both grab your heartstrings and strum throughout. The novel is written by husband Dylan sharing his and Maggie's love story (which starts in book 1) about pain and struggle and love and joy. Truly well worth the read. I loved it!
