As I finished reading this final episode to the Kate Daniels series I breathed a sigh of relief. It is rare that I read ten books in any series but I did this one because I so enjoyed Kate and her adventures not to mention the delightful loving Curran Lennart who is her soul mate. The magic that Kate exudes has drawn trouble from the #1 in the series. It is no different in this story. I did feel that the authors went a bit overboard with Kate's abilities but, hey, this is fiction. Right?

The conflicts with her father continue throughout and Kate must find a way to neutralize his powers. Can she do it? And, then there is the dragon, a being of unimaginable old power that even Kate cannot master without help. How does she get it? Or, can she? As she copes with these issues, she must protect Curran and their son whose powers shine brightly for all to see. He is a character that may well be the core of a new series while Kate and Curran take a back seat to his adventures. We shall have to wait and see. Meanwhile, kudos to the authors for developing such a fine series!
