This, Bk2 was the least favorite for me. Lark's piety was a little much for me, but the last half of the book was better.

It's to bad books 1 & 2 couldn't have had some of the wit and humor Bk3 did. But overall I enjoyed the set. =)

A wonderful story set against the religious persecution of Protestants during the reign of Queen Mary and prior to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.
Oliver and Lark have an interesting love story that needed to overcome many obstacles and misunderstandings.
Looking forward to reading the conclusion of the trilogy.

I enjoyed the historical aspect of this story as well as the romance. I'm going to do some more reading on Queen Elizabeth!

Good story; good characters; nice subplots and twists; interesting development. The Epilog really intrigued me and makes it almost gurananteed that I'll race out and find the third installemnt of this Tudor Rose trilogy. I really liked Oliver and Lark. I wished there'd have been more of a tie in with the gypsies again, but it didn't hurt the story.

This series is wonderful, starts off with lots of adventure and excitement and stays that way through the whole book. A really great read.

This book is the second in a 3 book series and I was not to excited to read it. However, I am glad I read it. It was much better than the first book. It held my interest and was a unique tale and the chemistry was great between the main characters.

Now I will be reading the third book:)

I can't decide if I like Oliver and Lark or not, especially when Oliver makes his big sacrifice towards the end. It almost seemed unnecessary and a lot of the situations seemed really forced. But it was interesting.

We first meet Lark and Spencer in Book One. Lark was still an infant and Spencer was holding her being mistaken for her father. Oliver was the sickly boy of Stephen and his first wife, Meg. As an adult, Oliver tends to overindulge living his life to the fullest and never knowing if he will be literally taking his last breath. While, Lark has turned religious, judgmental with Batman-like qualities.

I found the historical aspect of Catholics and Protestants almost more interesting than Spencer and Lark. When it is just two of them, they seem to go around in a circle that can get a little tiring to read.

Regardless it did keep me reading. It was okay. I preferred the characters in the first and third book more but the action here was better.

I enjoyed Book 2 (the Maiden's Hand) of the Tudor Rose Series. It kept my attention while I read the book and I hated when I had to put it down. I recommend this book.
