This was the best book in the series so far. The focus was more on the mystery, instead of all the personal drama.

This is the 6th Goldy culinary mystery. As good as they all are - this one features Marla little more & Arch now has a dog - a retired bloodhound from the Sheriff's department!

This is a mostly light-hearted mystery in spite of multiple murders, and it includes what look like mouth-watering recipes from our heroine's recipe box. Good fun!

From back cover: A golden opportunity---For caterer Goldy Schulz, who's been worrying about her cash flow, the chance to work for a high-powered company like Prospect Financial Partners seems like a dream come true. But it turns out to be murder...in every sense of the word.
An immensely wealthy client---When Goldy is hired to cater a party to kick off Prospect's latest venture---the reopening of the Eurydice Gold Mine--she prepares a feast fit for a king. Yet the Tomato-Brie Pie has barely been served when all hell breaks loose--and the main culprit is Goldy's best friend, Marla.
A killer dying to cash in---As Goldy works furiously to restore her business by whipping up shrimp-studded Plantation Pilaf and Sour Cresf-Cherry Coffee Cake, she finds herself drawn into a case of stolen millions and multiple homicides. She needs to discover which of the victims is the main corpse in order to unravel the mystery that threatens to cancel out her friend's dearest asset--her life.

Lots of adventure for Goldy in this book. Loved it all the way through. She should be a detective instead of a caterer!

A caterer who not only has great recipes in every book, but stumbles upon murder, is such a delight to read.

I thought this book was just ok. I think, perhaps, that I have read too many of her books because they all start to blur together.

Some parts were a bit far-fetched in my opinion, but still was a good, interesting book!

A caterer mystery with recipes. Goldy is preparing for a high powered company's kick off, with the reopening of the Eurydice Gold Mine, when it is disrupted by one of Goldie's friend Marla, who thinks the venture is a scam. One of the partners ends up missing and Marla is the main suspect. Goldy begins searching for clues to prove Marla's innocence.

I love all of the Goldy books! They are even better in the audio format, but still a good read.

Another good Goldy story. She sure gets herself into a lot of trouble! Poor Tom! LOL!
I made the Sour Cream Cherry Coffee Cake. Didn't turn out nearly as good as it sounded in the story. Was pretty much a bomb. I'm 0 for 2 on Goldy's recipes that I've made. Humph!

Goldy and Marla, her best friend, end up with dead bodies when they start to investigate the reopening of the Eurydice Gold Mine. An enjoyable read with recipes.

I am not that big a fan of the "cozy" style mysteries, but I do really enjoy Davidson's character, Goldy. I actually prefer these books as audiotapes - the readers (usually Cherry Jones or Mary Gross) do a great job. These books also include recipes, and although I have never tried them, I understand they are really great.

Goldy, owner of Goldilocks' Catering, barely weathered a disastrous spring in which relentless rains and driving snow put a real damper on her business. But now, thanks to her best friend, Marla, the Colorado caterer is suddenly cooking up a storm...lovingly preparing Crab Quesadillas, Tomato-Brie Pie, and Gold Foil-Wrapped Fudge Bars for her wealthy new client, Prospect Financial Partners.
The Prospect Partners' financial whiz, Tony Royce, with whom Marla is having a tempestuous affair, and Albert Lipscomb, who is personally managing Marla's money, have hired Goldy to prepare a sumptuous party to kick off their latest venture: the reopening of the Eurydice Gold Mine. Anxious to take advantage of a golden opportunity, Goldy arrives at the mine site early, loaded down with goodies. Yet just when she thinks she can relax, all hell breaks loose--and the main culprit is Marla.
Her best friend is sure the mine venture is a scam. And when, several days later, Albert ends up missing, it looks as if Marla was right. Why, then, is the police captain treating Goldy's best friend as if she had committed a crime? And how can Goldy keep her fourteen-year-old son Arch and his unreliable bloodhound from making matters worse?
As Goldy works furiously to restore her business by whipping up hot, fragrant Sour Cream Cherry Coffeecake and featherlight Cinnamon Scones, she finds herself drawn into a most unusual situation of missing partners, stolen millions, and multiple homicides. And only when Goldy can discover which of the victims is the main corpse will she be able to unravel the mystery that threatens to cancel out her friend's dearest asset--her life.
