I listened to the audiobook (included with Prime on Amazon). I loved the narrators! I am a sucker for a British accent so that kept me going. The story is kind of grim and upsetting in places so I am not sure I would have made it through reading the book. I did want to know who the culprit was although I strongly suspected I knew and I was right. It was told from multiple perspectives-Alice (the victim), Matthew (the private investigator) and the mysterious stalker. We get the back story of the stalker with his childhood but it is difficult to understand why his anger is directed toward the victim until nearly the end. He really experiences some horrendous things at a young age so you can't help but feel for him. I can't say I recommend but if you are okay with some rough, grim content I would definitely recommend listening to the audiobook as it is narrated so well.
The tone is more stilted, stiff and annoying to make for a good story, it had too much in it that just didn't make any sense why it was in this book, so I flipped to the end and got the result oh wait there isn't a surprise here and explanation for the 'why' of the stalker? I found out who was doing the stalking but I already had that figured out by page 50 or before
