I love the artist Johnny Cash because he was unflinching in his faith but honest about his flawed human nature. He lived a hard life and you learn a lot about his upbringing in this book.
The problem for me is that this book puts on rose colored glasses and largely fails to take ownership of his failures. What Cash acknowledged in his music was largely swept under the rug like he was running for political office. I felt like I was reading a book about Paul Bunyan, some mythical man -instead of the more interesting and honest telling of Cash's true life.
