"A rich and fascinating journey through fifty years of American history. The Speaker has a splendid storytelling ability which allows us to relive not only his colorful past but much of our own and our nation's past as well." (Doris Kearns Goodwin, author of The Fitzgeralds and The Kennedys)

Beautiful book, Great story! Tip O'neill is a colorful, friendly, but caring personality. I am not from Boston and only 1/8 Irish but I loved this book. Tip was a great Story teller. But what most impressed me for a boy whose mom died when he was 9 months old how impressive his father Tom Sr taught him to be caring and love other people. His father was always giving away clothes and food. Tip who grew up in Cambridge , Massachusetts where Harvard was for only the rich at that time and the "poorer people were shunned. Tip went to Boston College. AS soon as he graduated he ran for political office and spent 54 years of his life in public service. We need more caring individuals in government who care and are honest. Tip led an exemplary life. This was a 10 out of 10 book.

Hi all - as you can tell by our name, we are big fans of Tip ONeill, and are currently working on a documentary to honor his legacy. Currently on Kickstarter, Mr. Speaker will tell ONeills life story, starting from being a child of a working class family during the Great Depression to his brief career as a truck driver to ending up two heartbeats from the Presidency. This documentary is sure to be one for the ages. Help us honor this American political legend by backing Mr. Speaker on Kickstarter today http://bit.ly/TipONeillKS. Remember, all politics is local.
