If you are into a lot of military jargon and tactics, especially if you are ex-military, this is the book. A casual reader will find himself bogged down and going back for a second reading to clarify what he has just read. Good history of the air war in the first Iraq war.

An absorbing, detailed, and useful study of soldiers under stress and deadly events that tested their courage, determination, and efficiency. Very comprehensive.

I tried. HONEST I did!!! I've loved every other Tom Clancy book I've read!! This one, though, left me cold as ashes. I didn't get past the first 3 chapters. Please, someone who will love this, take it off my shelf and give it a happy home where it is properly appreciated for the marvelous book it -must- be?

General Chuck Horner commanded the U S and allied air assets-the forces of a dozen nations-during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and was responsible for the design and execution of one of the most devastating air campaigns in history. Never before has the Gulf air war planning, a process filled with controversy and stormy personalities, been revealed in such rich, provocative detail. And in this updated edition, General Horner looks at the current Gulf conflict-and comments on the use of air power in Iraq today.
