This book reads like a continuing poem, a search for identity. Full of light and dark. Contains a lot about Native Peoples mysteries and traditions, but ultimately a story of self discovery. I loved the writing style: the prose carries you forward into the book. Sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes funny, much like life generally and in nineteenth century America. Great book.

Dynamic characters. Tom really connects with you through his books and i really like the setting for this particular story.
