I really enjoyed this book, even though it pretty much skips her childhood and teenage years and marriages to Jim Dougherty and Joe DiMaggio. It goes very in-depth into her rise to fame, relationship with Arthur Miller and the Kennedy brothers, her last few months, and her fight with Fox over Something's Got To Give.
A very interesting take on Marilyn Monroe. It's as if Leaming was actually there. While it does cover Marilyn's childhood, the focus seems to be Marilyn becoming a star and her long love affair with Arthur Miller. It was interesting to read that Miller and Marilyn had met several years before they began their affair and were infatuated with each other but Miller was married and didn't want to act on his deep feelings for Marilyn. Marilyn longed for acceptance in her live but really didn't get it until Miller was an integral part of her life and they finally got together. Lots of information to devour...Very enjoyable!
