Benni inherits a house, some cash and furniture from a man she has never met and never heard of. The kicker is that she must stay in his house for two weeks, alone. Gabe isn't happy about it but she does it anyway. Benni learns a lot about herself, her relationship with Gabe and the rest of her family in her stay at the house. No murder but it was touching story with elements of surprise and danger.

A bizarre inheritance, a dangerous quest and a political battle are the main events of Benni Harper's captivating sixth adventure (after Dove in the Window).

I always enjoy Earlene Fowler's books. This book is different than other mysteries in that there is no murder; but, it still keeps your interest piqued to figure it out! A great read!

I had never read any of the Benni Harper series and enjoyed this one. It was rather intriguing and held my interest tho I burned out on mystery whodunit type books many years ago. If however you are in to them, give this book a try.
This series has some great "cozy" mysteries. This is one of the best of the batch.
I am enjoying all the books in the Benni Harper series, but I liked that this one had a different sort of mystery compared to the books before it in the series. Thumbs up!
Love all of Earlene Fowler's books about Benni Harper. This one was just as intriguing as the others I've read. The story keeps one engaged until the very end. I'm a quilter, so I especially enjoy the quilt-related parts of the book. Highly recommended.

Well written interesting book. Takes place on Central Coast of California around Morro Bay. You think you know how it is going to turn out but there is a surprise. Not murder takes place just the death of a man with a heart condition.
Fun series with a great heroine and lots of references to quilts and quilt patterns.
6th book in the Benni Harper mystery series.
I loved this series. Wish there were more volumes!

This is my first encounter with this author. I will admit that I loved the writing style and just how she put everything together. I'm definitely going to have to read more of these books!!

Great book. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
When Jacob Chandler died, he left his home in Morro Bay and all of its contents to Bennie Harper. Bennie Harper has never heard of Jacob Chandler but decides it is worth fulfilling the stipulation of staying in the house alone for two weeks. The two weeks is spen in following his scavenger-hunt set of clues. She does find the connection between Jacob Chandler and herself after puzzling and threatening situations.
Good book. Keeps you reading.
Another author discovered. I shall certainly read more.
