Leila is very brave for telling her story and shedding light on what it is like for a lot of muslim girls/young women. Imagine being a little girl the age of 10 and having to watch the other kids in the neighborhood running around playing freely while your not allowed to leave the balcony, having to take care of ten brothers being nothing more than a domestic servant alongside your mother, and not being able to speak out about being sexually abused for fear of being shamed.
You think when your finally an adult, old enough according to the law to make your own choices your finally going to be free? Think again becuase it not only continues but it's worse. You might not even be allowed to choose who your husband is!
Reading Leila's story you will come to understand why these girls can't just runaway. It's not that simple for them, and there is not a lot of people outside of their communities who understands their needs when they do try to runaway. This is a very eye opening tale of a young woman forced by tradition to marry a stranger.
