The 1st in a great series of books with snipers as protagonists.
Excellent read, hard to put down. All of Hunter's books have a tie to each other, even though each is a stand alone story. It is worth the effort to read in sequence.
Steven Hunter writes some of the best and this one tackles the end of World War I and a sniper out to damage the Allies.
I am a big Hunter fan from the Time to Hunt series. I can't explain it: what's a gun control liberal doing enjoying these super hero sniper novels. Anyway, this is an alternative involving efforts to stop an extraordinary Nazi sniper at the end of WW2. Captivating drama.
I love Stephen Hunter books, but this one was disappointing to me. The intrigue in this one is less about the characters and more about the weapon & the time period. Not a bad book, just not one I was crazy about. But if you are a Hunter fan and haven't read this, you need to.
military-definitely a macho book
Not my favorite Hunter. Little hard to follow, crazy plot
Good book. Obviously an early work by the author but a good debut nkvel.
