The author illuminates the fear-based beliefs and assumptions that undermine love and lead to suffering and drama in our relationships. "Happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love. When you are aware that no one else can make you happy, and that happiness is the result of your love, this becomes the greatest mastery of the Toltecs: the Mastery of Love." -from the book.

"The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship, A Toltec Wisdom Book" by don Miguel Ruiz is a quick, frenetic journey into the fear-created, unconscious assumptions that form our worlds, individual and collective; limit our ability to love, and prevent joy. But fear not! for each and everyone of us is a part of the same pattern and only through awareness can love be created and expanded. Based on Toltec philosophy and wisdom but woven with teaching stories from various cultures - not religious, but spiritual.
Easy read, short book. The writing style and structure creates a pace that comes across as urgent. While I may not agree some of the conclusions, there are enough kernels to sift and digest to make the sitting time enjoyable. [4/5]

This is a wonderful, insightful book that will make you change your thinking and actions when it comes to love. Great by itself or even better if you read The Four Agreements first (by the same author). Easy to read and the type of book you'll want to read more than once.

This one was a little weird.
There were a few really good parts, but on the whole it was repetetive and as I already said, just plain weird. I'm glad I read it, but it's not one I'll likely read again.

Compliments his first book, "The Four Agreements".
Has the best definition of shyness I have found. "Shyness is the fear of expressing yourself."
