English edition of a great African author. Story has a very dream-like quality to it. An ex-rebel returns home from exile to find his country still ruled by elites--this time native elites--after winning independence. Everything has changed, and yet nothing has really changed at all. Exciting book to read if you have/have not ever been exposed to African fiction before.
