Lots of action, adventure, a touch of romance, and a great teenage girl superhero voice! There are lots of questions that remain at the end of the book, but I think it's intentional because this is part of a series. For once, Max and the flock get some actual help from authority figures, and although she finds it frustrating I enjoyed the growing circle of people she cares about.

Though not as bad as Final Warning (thank goodness) this book is still lacking, as in what happens after they find this, why didn't they say what happened after they met this (you'll find out who, what, why, etc when you read the book as to these important questions). This book does go back a bit to the old ways of the flock but it does feel as if several characters got shoved into the background, mainly Iggy and Nudge were left out. It just felt odd how they received very few lines in the book. Though still an interesting story and not as bad as Final Warning, this book still left much room for improvement. Hopefully in the next book in the series, Patterson steps up his A game a bit to bring us back to the type of books he wrote at the start of the series.

The Maximum Ride series gets a lot better as she gets older I think. It's easier to read - to me - when she's a little more mature. I recommend this series! I really liked all of them so far, and I can't wait to get the next one.
