Lots of action, adventure, a touch of romance, and a great teenage girl superhero voice! There are lots of questions that remain at the end of the book, but I think it's intentional because this is part of a series. For once, Max and the flock get some actual help from authority figures, and although she finds it frustrating I enjoyed the growing circle of people she cares about.

Though not as bad as Final Warning (thank goodness) this book is still lacking, as in what happens after they find this, why didn't they say what happened after they met this (you'll find out who, what, why, etc when you read the book as to these important questions). This book does go back a bit to the old ways of the flock but it does feel as if several characters got shoved into the background, mainly Iggy and Nudge were left out. It just felt odd how they received very few lines in the book. Though still an interesting story and not as bad as Final Warning, this book still left much room for improvement. Hopefully in the next book in the series, Patterson steps up his A game a bit to bring us back to the type of books he wrote at the start of the series.

The Maximum Ride series gets a lot better as she gets older I think. It's easier to read - to me - when she's a little more mature. I recommend this series! I really liked all of them so far, and I can't wait to get the next one.
Another great book with the bird kids. Do I see a little at the end of tunnel? Will they finally get to have fun like normal kids do? Can't wait to read the next.
We'll this is my first book for April completed! Once again a Patterson book. I really enjoyed this book. It had alot of fill ins from other books which was okay but I think it took away from the book. I know most people that read series try to read all the books. I think the book could of had alot more in it, if it wasn't filled in from past books. I think it was great to find out new things about Max and the gang. I would recommend reading the book if you want to stay up to date on the series. I liked it. I really enjoyed the first 3 books in the series the most. The 2nd was my fav of them all. I know I'm getting off beat here but I want to say how I feel about this book. The story line was okay. I think Final Warning was a much more EXCITING book compared to this one. However I gave this book 4 stars. I could have used alot more excitment like the other 4 books.
I love this series..always want to read the next installment!
I enjoyed this book as much as the others-that means a lot! I read mainly to find good stuff for my grandkids. The only thing I would mention here is that Max and Fang are maturing and falling in love. They only kiss, and it is a sweet and innocent scene or two. Mothers who think their kids aren't ready for a little teen age romance might want to hold off on this one.It truly is innocent, though.
Great book!! James Patterson wrote the series and of course this particular book wonderfully!!!
Max....what a great book!!
Enjoyed the book
Typical of the Max Series. If you like the prior books, you will like this.
I did not care for this book at all. Style & story were both lame.
Like this series always want to read the next one
Fabulous book! Book five in one of my all-time favorite series!
