This fish makes "Jaws" look like a family pet and a minature one at that -
was interesting enough that I read it a second time when I started running really short of reading material

It was a very quick and light read. I did enjoy it, but I felt the author kind of crammed some stuff in towards the end of the book. It was a good break book from the type of genre I have been reading.

Love this book. Gave my mom nightmares and my brother couldn't finish it because it scared him so bad, but I love it! Edge of your seat read.

First in the series of the megalodon, which is a giant prehistoric shark-Jaws started it but this series is great reading, keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you feel like you are there with them.

I loved all of the parts where Meg attacked. Those were excitingly well written. Everything else however, was boring and hokey. The relationship between the main guy and gal was like a cliche. Yuck.

Very visual writting. I think about deep sea diving differently from then on.

I loved Meg. Much more terrifying than Jaws. Very quick and reasy read.

Hopefully this will be made into a movie.

Fast paced high octane action adventure, from start to finish!! I'll definitely never get back in the water. Great characters. Believable plot. All around good book. Can't wait to read the rest of them and see the movie.

Jaws meets Jurassic Park. A prehistoric shark (Carcharodon megalodon) is hiding out in the deepest part of the ocean when she is disturbed by divers and starts to run a muck.

An exciting, fast moving adventure of the leviathan of the deep. Well written with characters that you can get your teeth into.

just started reading this book series... It's absolutely amazing! I love how detailed the author is, in every aspect of the book. When the Meg attacks a dino, Steve gives every detail, just like painting a picture. I could see it come alive as he explained it. It is a violent book, with at least 6 people dying, and all the deaths are described in detail. But it makes the story unforgettable. There is also a little bit of language, but when you've got a book this good, you learn to look over the cussing. I can't wait until the movie comes out! Pretty sure it'll be rated R!! But of course, who doesn't like to watch a horror movie every once in a while. Steve Alten is a great author, and I can't wait until I order his next book in the MEG series!

Touted as "Jurassic Shark", Meg is a 60 foot, 30,000 pound prehistoric shark - kinda like a great white but much hungrier and nastier. This book is amazing...way more entertaining and awe-inspiring than Jaws. Meg is one mean mother attacking and killing anything that moves - surfers, whales, even submarines. This is an action packed adventure which grabs you on page one and doesn't let go.

i couldn't get behind this guy. i read the whole book, and it didnt leave me with any outstanding feelings or thoughts beyond, "guess i wont be reading the second book". as a quick, science fiction read, it was alright.

This was exciting (though I did sort of know what would happen from reading _Meg: Primal Waters_). It was also, in many ways, similar to that book, but it was exciting nonetheless. It was certainly a fast read. I wish I had read them in order...

Jurassic park under the sea, sort of.

If you like ocean-going sci-fi thrillers, this is a good read. Parts of it are a little hokey, and some of the characters are a bit one-dimensional, but it's fast-paced and entertaining. The Meg is definitely one baaaaaaaaaad fishy, and a lot of people end up as unwilling fish food.
It ain't JAWS, but it ain't bad!

I could not put this book down. Definitely quick paced. A cross between Jaws and Jurassic Park. Thrilling and quite plausible. I enjoyed it, except for the end. It was an unexpected ending, for sure, but not as good as the rest of the book.

This was my first book by this author and it doesn't disappoint. If you liked "Jurassic Park" , this is in a similar vein , plus a little "Jaws" thrown in. It is an edge of your seat read, that will make you run to get the sequel and wonder why a movie hasn't been made of this. Enjoy!!

In the deep Pacific Ocean, Jonas Taylor in a scientific exploratory dive found himself face-to-face with an ancient monster too horrifying for his modern mind to contemplate. He was the sole survivor of the creature's wrath that day....the Meg - a prehistoric Carcharodon megalodon. The creature was rising to the surface ready to churn the tides of terror.
