Not so hot. I'm a Faye Kellerman fan - have read all her books - and this is my least favorite by a mile. Rina is relegated to the kitchen this time and Pete is overshadowed by the detective work done by others. The story line wanders aimlessly with several sub-plots getting in the way. The suspects are so numerous I had a hard time remembering who was who. Wish I could recommend this book but I was truly disappointed and bored.

Excellent new book from Faye Kellerman featuring Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus. Two similar murders 15 years apart start an investigation into the old and into the new. Lots of great character development, plenty of action. A lot of swearing in this book so beware of that...if you are offended by rough language, don't read this book. If you can overlook the language, you'll love it!

I really love the Decker/Lazarus series. However, this one seemed to just drag on and on. There were a lot of people involved which made it a little bit hard to keep up with the good guys and the bad guys. The end just showed up, no great ending.

An unnecessarily complicated plot line with too many characters and their interrelationships to keep track of. Not up to Faye Kellerman's usually very readable standard.

Lots of twists and turns. Lots of new characters. It is interesting to see how Peter and Rina's family are growing and developing. After reading all of Faye Kellerman's books it feels like coming home. I really enjoyed this book and the way the characters co-mingled with each other. This book has my recommendation.

I have always enjoyed Faye Kellerman's books featuring Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus and have followed their marriage through the years along with the mysteries they share. Their lives have matured nicely along with their children into one of the most grounded families I've ever encountered in books. The unsolved murdeer of a favorite teacher prompts a wealthy "geek" to seek help finding the murderer even though the case has been closed for years. When another murder occurs mimicking the long ago crime, Peter Decker becomes involved and the hunt is on! As usual you won't want to put the book down until the last page.

Not the best one in the series... Long and drawn out and by the end I really didn't care who did it.

Lieutenant Peter Decker resents having to commit valuable manpower to a cold case simply because a rich woman says, "Jump!" But when a primary investigator in the Little case, now retired, suspiciously commits suicide hours after he and Decker talk, the detective realizes something evil's connecting the dots in two murders separated by a decade and a half. Wife Rina Lazarus offers a cool, rational outlook, as always, despite her growing concern for her husband's welfare--as past and present collide with a vengenance, catapulting Decker ever closer to the edge of an infinite dark abyss.
