David Nevin brings us the story of one of our country's most stellar icons, Meriwether Lewis. From his reluctant beginnings as a secretary to President Thomas Jefferson to his eventual partnership and friendship with William Clark, Lewis always held one ultimate dream:to chart the two thousand miles of wilderness from the Mississippi to the Pacific Ocean. In perhaps the finest telling of the Lewis and Clark expedtion. Nevin reaveals all of the genius, power, and drive of a man who has come to embody the essence of the American dream.

great read, wonderful way to experience the thrill of the Lewis and Clark expedition. forget the dry, boring facts from history books. this is a front row seat on the keelboat, rowing against the current of the mighty missouri river...

The story of Meriwether Lewis and his life before, during and after the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Part of a great series by Nevin.
This was another excellent book by David Nevin, in fact I would call it one of his better efforts.
