People got upset over Dan Brown's premise in The Da Vinci Code that this book was overlooked. The passing on of Jesus' genes were mentioned in this book in 1997 and that his lineage was alive today. This book has a more sinister story line and just as good to read as Brown's book and scarier. I read it in hard copy and again in the paperback. A can't put down novel

Orginally published as The Miracle Strain, the publishers changed the title to capitalize on the latest craze of pseudo-religious based fiction started by The DaVinci Code. The new title, though, doesn't stray far at all from the theme. Very well written, great twisting plot lines, and an ending that leaves you thinking there just might be hope for the human race.

A very interesting premise which moves along at a leisurely pace ( could have cut about 80 pages with no story loss) about a brotherhood sent to find our second messiah and a genetic scientist who also wants to find him. Some strange events kind of undid the whole book for me which I wont give a spoiler here but I found very hard to go a long with as a reader. Its an ok read that just kind of fell apart at the end in my opinion. All of the genetic information seems well researched and is very newsworthy stuff considering what they can already do with genes. as far as the religious side, well see for yourself.

dna, chromosomes, gene science, a secret society from the time of christ. a beautiful, brutal assassin, completing the "righteous" kills as assigned. a dedicated father desperate to save his daughter from an incurable illness. only a miracle will do....the shed blood of salvation..literally!! does it get any better than this? Cordy is my new favorite in this genre....

An excellent read, one with lots of twists, action, and page turning until the climatic ending.
Along the lines of the DaVinci code, I couldn't put this book down.

This book was a good read and I did enjoy it. It is probably another Da Vinci Code wannabe but done fairly well. However, there were many implausible scenes. The basic idea of DNA being able to heal is good, but the way in which it heals in this book is implausible. The main character is an athiest/scientist with a sick child. There is a religious fanatic assasin running around doing "God's work." There is a secret society keeping watch for the coming Messiah. There is quite a twist at one point. But if you are even slightly religious, this ending is not gonna leave you feeling very good about anything religious.
Very good book!!!
