There's a reason that the adjective 'kafkaesque' has entered the vocabulary, and after you read this short story collection you'll know what it is. Franz Kafka's quirky worldview is effectively showcased in his short stories, which seem to be best enjoyed a few at a time.

Stories include: The Judgment, The Stoker, In the Penal Colony, A Country Doctor, An Old Leaf, A Hunger Artist, Josephine the Singer or The Mouse People, Before the Law.
A painful,but well written story
One of my favorite books - a Classic. If I hadn't somehow ended up with two, I wouldn't be giving this up!
This book is a collection of the translations of some of Kafka's best short stories, and a definite must read. No matter how many times I re-read these stories, I can't bring myself to put the book down until the final page has been read!
