The reader really impressed me. She was able to do many different voices and make it sound like a full cast of characters.

Evanovich is moving into the fast lane with Metro Girl, a thrilling, high-octane misadventure with high stakes, hot nights, cold-blooded murder, sunken treasure, a woman with a chassis built for speed, and one very good, very sexy NASCAR driver who's along for the ride.
"Wild" Bill Barnaby's dropped off the face of the earth and big sister Alex heads for Miami, Bill's last known sighting, on a harrowing hunt to save her brother...and maybe the world. Alex blasts through the bars of South Beach and points her search south to Key West and Cuba, laying waste to Miami hitmen, dodging Palmetto bugs big enough to eat her alive, and putting the pedal to the metal with NASCAR driver Sam Hooker. Engaged in a deadly race, Wild Bill's borrowed Hooker's sixty-five-foot Hatteras and sailed off into the sunset...just when Hooker has plans for the boat. Hooker figures he'll attach himself to Alex and maybe run into scumbag Bill. The race to the finish is hot and hard.

I listed to this on a 6 hour car ride and it had me laughing andon the edge of my seat the whole time!! The narrator of he story does a great job reading the story & does all of the characters voices perfectly just as you would imagine them!! The Heroine of the story Alex Barnaby (aka "Barny") goes on a mission to find her brother "wild bill" when he dissapears after a disturbing phone call to Alex at 2am... (reminding me alot of some of the stephanie plum missions) Alex is alot like stephanie, wild, ouspoken independant shameless and unapologetic...her conincidenal sidekicks on the mission: a famous nascar driver, a gay guy (and his little doggy brian) and a couple of cuban women from little havana in florida. Stephanie plum fans will def love this...plenty of laughs, guns, explosions...even a bomb..and of course just enough light romance thrown into the mix for fun... absolutly loved this and will definitly be reading(or listening to) the next one "Motor Mouth"

I really enjoyed listening to this book and so did my sister. Now it's time for another woman to enjoy it. The action is believable, fun and sexy! I live in FLorida so hearing about Miami and the Keys made it even more interesting. It should be made into a movie. I haven't read too many Evanovich books but now I want to read or listen to more!
