This is the third in the series. She is quickly making it up there in the ranks of Kenyon and Ward. Every book has been better than the last, and the first one was really good. I am HOOKED! You'll love it if you like contemporary vamp stories with great alpha males and smart females. Each females also has her own 'gift' that makes her special as well as the birthmark that makes her a vamps "breedmate". Don't miss the one!

Third in the Breed series and although an OK series this book falls right down the middle of the road for me. The story is of Tegan, an angry tortured loner of the Order that even the other members are wary of, and Elise, who is also emotionally damaged and bent on revenge for those who ruined her life. Together they find common ground that connect them but often find themselves going toe to toe because each one is stubborn and doesn't like to back down

Over all I can completely see where Elise is coming from. By the way you really should read these books in order because Elise's story really starts coming together in the second book Kiss of Crimson. Anyway, she is a bundle of raw emotions and after reading what started her spiral I probably would seek revenge also if I were in her shoes. Tegan is broody and mostly anti everything...antisocial, anti-politically correct, anti-policy and proceedure. You name it he is against it all. But honestly there is something about him that I like.

Both Elise and Tegan, although completely oposite, really are a good match. My only complaint about this book is the Elise is pretty passive...except with Tegan. I would have liked to have seen her step out of her little box and get real with more people and show what a kick butt woman she could really be. Instead the reader is constantly reminded that she has to rely on others to help her get by. She does get a backbone every now and again but instead of it looking like she is blossoming and growing it tends to feel a little out of place

Although I found this book to be not bad and but yet pretty average I will read the next book because it is Rio's book. Talk about tortured heroes!!! I think that anyone who is into the paranormal romances right now (JR Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jaquelyn Frank, Christine Feehan Etc.) should include the Midnight Breed books also. I don't feel that Adrian is up to the level of those authors but does pen an entertaining world and is worthy of being read.

This is a great series. This is Tegan's story. He is a dark, brooding warrior with the Order. Elise is devestated after her son goes rogue and has to be killed and she vows to help rid the rogue population. She meets up with Tegan on one of her hunts and he has to save her and from there their journey begins. You learn alot more about the Order in this one. Very good story. Looking forward to the next.

Each book in this series has gotten better. I like that the heroines are both feminine and strong. The heroes, though have a sad history can still be sensitive. Ms. Adrian has fast become one of my fav authors. In the fast rising paranormal genre, this series is not to be missed.

Amazing author, great book and fantastic story line. I love this whole series....I can't put the book down! Even though each book is a story into itself, the series is a continuous story line that includes previous characters. I especially enjoyed this story about Tegan and Elise. Tegan is my kind of man, mysterious, rough around the edges, but passionate to the core. Great book!

This is a great read. Elise is introduced in the previous book, so I felt like I knew her already when I started this book.

It is hard to believe but each book gets better and better! I just finished this one, posted this one and can't wait to dig into the next one immediately!

This book made me laugh, sigh, and cringe out loud! The sex is steamy and arousing without being too graphic. I was so wrapped up in this book (even more than the previous two) that I could not put it down! I can't get enough of these books and have moved Ms Adrian to the 3rd favorite author of mine...

If you like Kenyon, Ward, or even Showalter (who isn't my favorite b/c of the violent sex), you will LOVE THESE BOOKS! I am a fan of JD Robb as well and find Ms Adrian's tales to equal Nora Roberts as Robb, though she is most like JR Ward... She is a talented writer and enjoyable read!

Happy reading! Time for me to hit the 4th book!

I was very disappointed with this book. I may try to read one of the others by this author, but so far I am not impressed. She has a long way to go before she can be compared to J. R. Ward, whose writing gets better with every novel.

I've really enjoyed this series, although I do find it similar to JR Ward, Black Dagger Brotherhood. However, I found this book to be the best in the series so far. It did remind me of "Lover Awakened" JR Ward, the tale of Zsadist and Bella. Nonetheless, a very good read.

I love this series and this book did not dissapoint! You meet the heroine in bk2 and can really empathize with her situation. The hero is one of my favorites and I was really happy he was able to overcome his past hurts to find a HEA. This series also features a plot line that is continued from book to book that I really enjoy. I think this gives the books continuity.

Elise and Tegan's story was good but only that, good. Adrian's books 1,2 and 4 are hot hot hot. Elise and egan left me a little underwhelmed. I love reading Elise as such a strong woman but it felt fake in the light of foolish desicions and flawed tactics. It is worth a read but I felt a little disappointed.

I actually liked this one more than the first two in the series. I really liked Teagan and Elise in Book 2 and I do recommend reading the Book 2 to get Elise's back story, especially in connection to Sterling. I thought Adrain would play on the love triangle there a little more. There was a little more closure in the plot but it came a little too easily for me.

There were times where I felt for Teagan because Elise was such a tease. Regardless I liked her enough because when it comes down to what really mattered, she was reliable and resourceful. With Teagan's back story, I'm not sure I buy how easy he was with Elise's risk taking. I thought he would freak out a little more and be a little more controlling.

Overall it was a good read. I don't think she is as good as Kenyon or Feehan either. The interaction between her main characters almost seemed a little too textbook. But I will still continue to read the series.

At first I didn't think I was going to get into this one. I did not like the character Elise in the previous book. But the person she transforms into in this book has changed that opinion. AND I love bad boys and Tegan is that kind of vampire! This is not focused on sex like the the first two books. Its more about the characters and makes you wish you were a part of the Order.

I love this series! She had me hooked on the first book! And I can't seem to explain why I enjoy this book so much. All I know as that I do.

If you enjoy romance & fantasy, you'll enjoy this book/series.

Series can be read out of order because she (the author) does explain things. But what had me hooked me hooked was the first one :)

I enjoyed the book, but it was my least favorite of the first 3 books. The two characters were hard to imagine together and the author kept them fighting for most of the book.

These are the classic reading of Feehan and Kenyon. If you like them you'll love Adrian.

3rd book in the series - Tegan's story. I didn't much care for the heroine but the story itself was good. A little darker than the previous books have been.

I was really looking forward to reading about Tegan, who sounded like a really intriguing, wounded, cold warrior in the other books but comes off as being mildly irritated here.

The heroine has been a mourning widow for the past five years because she greatly missed her husband, the love of her life, and here, she talks about him -- and her former life -- as a duty. Sometimes she's an ice queen who is part of society's upper crust, and other times, she mocks and scorns that very society, but we don't know why. We don't even get the sense that she knows why.

It feels like the author is trying too hard to make awkward puzzle pieces fit together. "Kiss of Crimson," the second book, was much better.
