MIDNIGHT BLUE is a mix of historical fiction (Holland, 1650), art, business and romance. Catrin is a young widow in a small hamlet, stifled in her desire to express her self in art. The proceeds of the auction of her dead husband's farm give her opportunity to pursue her dream of joining an art guild in a larger city. She has painted pottery, stools and other household items, but know there are greater possibilities even though the culture would deny a woman admittance to business. Throughout the story Catrin's eye for beauty and her ambition lead her to new contacts, job opportunities and eventually, romance. The tie-in of the Black Plague in Europe at this time was a spooky tie-in to present day.
