The stories were really intriguing, and unlike other vampire lore not at all dark, bloody horror style, but more of a mystery with a sci-fi element. The stories were well fleshed out, and the characters though bit simple, were likable and have 'grown' through their experiences. The main protagonists were likable and the reader can identify with them through their all too human feelings and struggles. The romance element though predictable was well grounded and rather sweet. The adult scenes were few, far btw. and do not define the book. Truth be told I skip them all, because I read this book for the story rather then for the um... entertainment. (Do not misunderstand, it's not that I do not enjoy a good smut book, when the mood strikes me, but rather that the book was a worthy sci-fi read, without the intimate scenes). So I can't tell you anything about them, other then without them the book is a solid read with strong stories and characters one can identify with.
