Wonderful book about New Orleans past and present. Lots of stuff I didn't realize. You can tell the author did her research at the end of the book by what she wrote on HOW she wrote the book. The Julia Street mentioned is a real street in New Orleans which made this book come even more to life. Highly recommended!
Helpful Score: 2
A beautifully crafted romance mystery that weaves inventively between the past and present. Midnight on Julia Street was hard to put down, so make sure you have plenty of time to read when you pick it up!

A story that is hard to put aside once you begin to read.
Nice mystery/romance with psychics, ghosts and time travel. Yummy on a rainy day!
Corlis McCullogh is a thirty-four year old news reporter who has just arrived in New Orleans although she does have ancestors from the area.
When she covers the wedding of the two oldest families in the city, the Duvallons and the Eberts, she sees a ghostly bride and groom at the altar before the ceremony. This is the first of strange "visits" to the past.
The wedding ends up being called to a halt by the bride after she finds the groom and maid of honour in the cloakroom together. Corlis films the altar confrontation and after it is aired, she is fired.
The bride's brother is Kingsbury Duvallon who is a Professor of Architectural history - and was Corlis' nemesis at UCLA. But King feels guilty that she was fired and gives her information on another job. Corlis finds herself attracted to King despite their history together.

Interesting. Especially if you enjoy the concept of time travel. Really 2 stories in one.
