Not one of the best I have read from this author. It was filled with inconsistancies which had me going back to see if I had missed something. Her editing staff could have done a better job making sure the story flowed more coherently. I will still read the others in the series if only to discover the answers to the questions raised in this book. I hope the others are better edited.
Better than her other series. But as with the other books, the theme or angst repeats and repeats. There are so many characters, Ms. Leigh has become confused. By the end of book, we are no closer to why things are the way they are except the main characters resolve their problem. We will have to find out more about the plot with her next book. I imagine this is a trilogy.

I'm completely confused. This book is slow moving, long winded, and leaves you with way more questions than answers. The backstory is so complicated with even more complicated family trees, that I wasn't really sure what was going on. The only thing for certain is the passion and love between Cami and Rafe. That, in true Leigh fashion, is a detailed sexual component that traverses most of the book. I did wind up skimming most of it trying to get to a more "active" storyline. And I really like the 3 cousins, but if it weren't for the fact that I really needed to know who the killer was I wouldn't have finished the book. I will still give the second in this series a try, I'm hoping it will level off and answer some of the lingering questions as to what the hell is really going on? Who is behind all of this?

So many characters, you'll have to make a family tree to help remember who everyone is. Could have been a good book, but ending is disappointing. Book also repeats things over and over again making it drag on forever.

Story of Rafe Callahan and Cambria Flannigan. He's from the wrong side of the track and makes good years later as a properous rancher. In their past history he never knew he got her pregnant and she lost the baby. Typical LL with serial murderer and kinky sex.

If you like mysteries, this is the one to read. Couldn't put down.
I have read everyone of Lora Leighs books - and I have enjoyed every one. How as a writer she continues to come up with fantastic senerios is incredible. This book felt to me like a flashback to several stories she has written - Adding a little part of some of the best to make this work. I felt that the characters were not as intense as I wanted them to be, but rather felt like she was setting the stage for better books to come. I would buy it again, but I think it might be awhile before I reread it. Look forward to Logan and Crowes stories as I pick up Dawgs story to reread for the upteenth time!
not one of my favorites but if its Lora Leigh...I read it! Im sure Ill finish out the series as sometimes it gets better with later installments.
It was hard to get into this in the beginning but once I got the characters straight I couldn't put it down. I look forward to the next installment which continues the story of the "bad" cousins of Corbin County!
I'm a pretty big fan of Leigh's books. I have to admit I couldn't get into her "pleasure" series as much because the characters there were a bit boring, but I love her military and Breed series.
This book is the first of a trilogy surrounding a mystery that involves the whole town and three men that the town turn their backs on as boys. The Callahan boys reminded me a little of the ones in her "Nauti" series and there were a bit of plot line or characters from her other books but with a different name.
Although the characters were very interesting and kept my interest, I found this book to be somewhat of a disappointment. It was very poorly written, especially in the beginning. It was convoluted and confusing plus adding on the huge number of characters and family members / lines you are supposed to keep track of just made it worse. There were a ton of inconsistencies not to mention a lot of spelling errors. At the same time, there were a lot of repeated information and the characters kept rehashing the same thoughts and feelings with very little forward movement. It read more like a draft than a real book. And I never thought I would ever say this about a Leigh book but the sex scenes were good the first few times but after that it was really dull. Just the same thing over and over again and the same boring dirty talk. I'm sure there is more than a few lines of dirty talk she could have employed to keep things spicy. There was also some yuck factor that Cami was sleeping with someone her sister slept with. It's a shameful double standard I harbor (okay to sleep with two brothers at the same time in her books, but not okay when it's a sister).
When I read who the trouble maker was in this story, it was very anticlimactic. I had to flip through the book to see if this person was even mentioned.
I will continue to read the series because I do find the characters intriguing. I'm also curious to know what the big mystery will be. But trust me when I say it's not worth paying for the book. It was okay if you are jonesing for some Lora Leigh between her Breed, military, or even her Nauti series (Or if you have nothing else better to read at the moment). Great story! Wonderful characters. I couldn't put it down!! It made me wonder what the secrets of Corbin county were and who was killing everyone. I cant wait until the next book and find out what will happen to "The Cousins".

This book is a hot mess. The timeline inconsistencies and grammatical errors are astoundingly prolific and irritating from a best selling author. I love Lora Leigh, usually, but this book was just hard to follow, terribly inconsistent, and a let down. The sex was good as always, Lora writes a hot erotic scene. But I already own the 2nd and 3rd books in the series and I'm fairly sure I'm not going to read them.I was disappointed.
