This was really a great book. I little bit of tragedy w/just the right amount of romance thrown in. I would highly recommend it!

Very good book. This is the first of three books, starting with the middle sister. It is a thick book but a very quick read,it has just the right combination of suspense and romance with some history thrown in. The characters are mature and interesting. The female characters are strong but womanly. The male characters are manly but sensitive and warm without coming off weak.

Cal Hawkins just wants to be left alone and leave the past where it belongs. the bleak beauty of Dead Horse Creek is a perfect place to get away from the world...a place where nothing exists to remind him of everything he's lost. his isolation is complete--until Charity Sinclair arrives fresh from New York City. Stunningly beautiful and stubbornly independent, she's also shamefully ignorant of the untamed wilderness.. and the very real dangers she'll face if Call doesn't' teach her a thing or two.

But even with Call's grudging help, Charity's dream of life in the Yukon may have led her into something much more savage than the forest: A menace as endless as the long days that run together without darkness--and a killer who won't let anything come between him and perfect, deadly vengeance...

This is the first in the trilogy about the Sinclair sisters,Charity, Patience and Hope, who each set off on a dream adventure and end up meeting the men of their dreams. This is Charity's story of gold prospecting in the modern day Yukon. She clashes with a reclusive software billionaire who justs wants to be left alone. You can pretty much guess where the story goes from there, but it sure was fun to read!

A novel of romantic suspense in which true darkness exists only in the heart of a killer....over my dead body.

Charity Sinclair lives in Manhatten, is tired of her job as a book editor, and of her deadend relationship with her boyfriend, Jeremy. She has decided to move to the Yukon Territory to fulfill an adventure she has dreamed of all her life. She is so green when it comes to living out in the wilds of Dead Horse Creek, she has no idea how to work a gold mining operation, and she must contend with her cranky, extremely handsome next door neighbor, McCall Hawkins. He likes the peace and quiet of the forrest, and she is disrupting his solitude. Very good story, a modern girl thrust into a primitive environment which she loves.
The Hero reminds me of the brooding men in the Diana Palmer novels. Great read.
