This was an awesome book. I have a hard time reading history books and this one was not easy. However, the history was entwined with great writing from Ms. Ulrich. I have 2 great grandmothers who were midwives in their small towns . This really brought their vocation alive to me. I am very grateful to Ms. Ulrich for such a wonderful book.
