Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel, Mary Anne, can dig faster than 100 men! The story of how Mike proves this, and Mary Anne's fate in a world where the technology is surpassing her, is a beloved tale of children young and old. A classic.

I loved this book as child and my two year old likes it also. Now I think more about the messages of advancing technology and the value of the craftsperson but my son just likes the pictures!
