Helpful Score: 1
This book, along with sequel The Vang: The BattleMaster, (and I believe there is another after that) are great sci-fi books.
Not just your typical alien invasion books... these are written from the alien's perspective... where a lone alien ends up on earth, and despite being vastly outnumbered and facing overwhelming odds, tries to conquer the humans. Its interesting/gripping to see the story unfold from the alien's view.. as it scopes out the 'enemy', looks for weaknesses, and tries to subvert humankind.
While you root for the alien to 'lose'... you also get to know/respect it as a formidable foe... The action is gripping fast paced.. and the 'battle' between the vastly superior alien and the humans is well written. The ending to one of the two books (sorry can't remember which) is a bit weak as it just sort of looses steam and ends... but up until that point its a roller coaster of action.
I highly recommend these books to anyone who enjoys Sci Fi books, especialy alient invasion books. Five stars for both.
