FBI Agent Atlee Pine travels home to Georgia with her trusted assistant Carol determined to find out what really happened to her twin sister when they were six years old. Mercy disappeared and Atlee was left for dead with a cracked skull. All she remembers was she saw someone come through the window and abduct her sister.

As the intriguing plot unfolds, Atlee finds out her life was a series of lies as she uncovers shocking secrets of her past.

I couldn't put the book down until finished and can't wait for the sequel!

OK story until the end, then too many people and names to keep track of. FBI agent trys to unlock the mystery of her early years when her twin went missing and she was almost killed.

Excellent page-turner, I could not put this book down after the first page! Atlee Pine is a complex character, and you really get to know her and what makes her tick. She's a great FBI agent when it comes to solving other peoples problems, but when it comes to her own she needs a little help. Looking forward to the next installment of this series.

I'm not happy to give this a poor rating but I need to:

1. story has been done by several authors already so nothing knew about--abducted sibling (twin) at age 6, other twin 30 years later is now an FBI agent and of course goes back to the home town of the crime and is now going to solve it, so in the meantime another serial killer pops up in the hometown and now she has to solve that one too

SOOOOO---the two storylines have already been done over and over and Baldacci hasn't added anything knew to that storyline, the book is slow slow slow and borders on the boring side since you already know what has happened and what will happen

So disappointed that authors can't come up with something new that no one else has done.
