Everyone wants to kill her, I did and she was just a character in a book :) Sharyn McCrumb's books make me laugh out loud and yet it still has a good mystery for you to figure out. I highly recommend all of her books!

This is a hilarious story - sort of a how-is-it-going-to-be-done instead of a who-dun-it.

This is a series about Elizabeth MacPherson who is not your ordinary amateur sleuth, as a matter of fact she usually needs lots of help and makes lots of mistakes. A light read.

I love all Sharon McCrumb's stories, and her Elizabeth McPherson series is delightful, funny yet I would not consider them "light".

McCrumb's Elizabeth MacPherson mysteries are always unusual and this one may be the most unusual.

First, she provides a clue early on letting the reader pretty much guess how the person to be murdered was going to die. Then she proceeds to make you like the person who wants to commit the murder. Finally, she has her heroine incorrectly solve the victim's death, leaving you with a great feeling of satisfaction. Boy, was this one fun!

The unsinkable Elizabeth MacPherson is on tour, traveling with a charmingly gruesome caravan of Americans visiting England's most famous murder sites. The cantankerous and condescending guide, Rowan Rover, thinks he's shockproof - until a mild-mannered American businessman on his Jack the Ripper walk aska a small favor: since Rowan knows so much about murder, would he mind committing one, for a nice, fat fee? Surprised at himself, Rowan agrees to eliminate the unsuspecting Susan. It's not that he doesn't have misgivings; he does. But he's already cashed the check; he desperately needs the money, and, well, there are rules about gentlemen's agreements, aren't there? Enter Elizabeth MacPherson, canny observer and all-around murder spoiler. No would-be assassin needs her on his tail. But there she'll stay until the end of the tour or the completion of Rowan's mission - whichever comes first ...

According to the critics "Sharyn McCrumb, a beguiling wordsmith,s erves up a sprightly dish, seasoned liberally with humor and more than a dash of irony."
