I really enjoyed the different stories of the Moffats in this book. They really made me smile sometimes!

This is a very sweet story. It would make a great read-aloud book. My seven year old daughter just loved it. She has asked for teh rest of the series.

This is a delightful book! I enjoyed reading it to my son very much. It is educational because we learn what life was like in olden times.
Meet the Moffats. There is Sylvie, the oldest, the cleverist, and-most days at least-the responsible one; Joey, who though is only twelve is the man of the house..sometimes; Janey, who has a terrific upside-down way of looking at the world; and Rufus, who may be the littlest but always gets in the biggest trouble. Even the most ordinary Moffat day is packed with extraordinary fun. Only a Moffat could get locked in a bread box all afternoon, or dance with a dog in front of the whole town, or hitch a ride on a boxcar during kindergarten recess. And only a Moffat could turn mistakes and mischief into hilarious and one-of-a-kind adventure.
I have been reading classic children's books that I missed growing up. The Witch Family, by Eleanor Estes is one of my favorite childhood books, and this story of a family and the children's various adventures in a small town is also an enjoyable read.
It's a classic!
