A delightful book -- in spite of the woman in the bushes who has been murdered.
The book is set in the early 1800s and Ms. Dean gives the reader a good picture of the time -- the morals and the manners of the upper class and of the spinster. The characters are well drawn which made me miss them when the book was over. When I discovered that there is another book -- Gentleman of Fortune -- I was very pleased. I highly recommend it.
