Seems to have a lot of similarities with Laurell Hamilton's Meredith Gentry series and Anne Bishops Black Jewel series. In fact, if you read those books, this feels like fanfiction. The writing is awkward - dialog sort of stilted (moves from casual speech to formal at odd times), characterization very one dimensional, romance unbelievable, and the protagonist is a Mary Sue who everyone falls in love with for no good reason. She has 1 magical ability at the beginning of the book and keeps gaining new ones until she has about 8 by the end - a little overboard and a little cliched, aspects I noticed a lot throughout the book. I have a feeling you are either going to love this book if what you want is something trashy + erotic + pure fluff, otherwise you may not like this.

A smoldering debut novel exploring the passion, hunger, and danger that can break loose in the moonlight.
From the time she was a child, Mona Lisa knew she was different-but she never knew how different until a man of otherworldly beauty appeared during her night shift in the ER. Gryphon is hurting and hunted and he attracts her as no man ever has before. He is a Monère, one of the children of the moon-and what's more, so is she.
Long exiled from the moon, the men of the Monère serve-and mate with-imperious Queens who can channel the rays of their far-off homeland. Gryphon believes that Mona Lisa is a Queen- perhaps the first of Mixed Blood ever known. But her introduction to the nighttime court of the Monère, simmering with intrigue, casual lust, and calculated cruelty, is far from smooth.

I was incredibly disappointed in this story. I had the feeling that this author had written a decent story, submitted it to an editor, and the editor sent it back with a note reading, "Put some sex in it." I felt like it brought the story down a notch and degraded the character. Which is a shame, because it is SO creative! Oh well.

Ok this book was really good. It was different than your normal paranormal in my opinion. This has shape shifters, demons and vampires. It has sex and it has an actual story behind it. I know that some reviews are saying that this book is similar to Laurel K Hamilton and Anne Bishop. I have not read either one but if it's true I would not mind starting to read theirs books either.

I really enjoyed this book ...it was refreshing to have a unique storyline. This book was still romantic without the blatant romance found in some and still had the edginess of a Urban Fantasy. Very original and tastefully done. I look forward to others in this series. The characters and the way they evolve with the story were believable. Really enojyed this one.

Basically the problem with this author and everything by her is that it is a BLATANT and nearly word for word RIPOFF of Anne Bishop's Dark Jewels Trilogy, and of Laurel K Hamilton's Anita Blake AND Merry Gentry novels. Put in a blender and hit frappe! Terribly written, trite, ridiculous, and deserving the title of bad fanfiction. The original authors did it a LOT better.

suitably compared to Anne Bishop & Laurell K. Hamilton, a good debut and an interesting read.

This was an OK book for me. The story could have really been outstanding but the author rushed from point A to POint D and it felt disjointed. This could have been easily divided into 2 or even 3 books with much more detail and character development.

A little more of a romance novel than my liking, but an intriguing storyline and a powerful and likable heroine. A bit of horror and a bit romance, it definitely is not a book for everyone. If you like books in these genres or better yet in both, it may be worth checking out.
this is fanfic that has somehow been published. The characters and social settings based not-so-loosely on Laurell K. Hamilton and Anne Bishop - though not as well woven or researched. Standing on the shoulders of giants does not a good novel make. I won't be reading the rest of this series.

This series is very dark fantasy. Also quite a bit of sex. That being said, it is an interesting take on the paranormal and I really like the Monere. This book starts out a little slow with world-building but gets better as it goes on.

I was able to read all 3 books in this series within 24 hours by skimming the sex and ended up pre-ordering the 4th one. Yes it's a lot like LKH & Anne Bishop but still a good fun read.

This surprised me. I didn't think I would like it but the more I read the better it got. I'm sure I'll read them all.
The story was fairly interesting, but the writing was eyeroll-inducing. Cover blurbs reference Laurell K. Hamilton, which makes sense, but know that this refers to the second half of the Anita Blake series, not the first.

I recently stumbled upon this author and picked up all three books... yes she is like LKH, in fact she thanks LKH for inspiring her writing. It is like Merry Gentry, with a twist. I loved the story, skimmed the sex, and enjoyed the ride over all.
