I do not want to discount Ms. McClure's own experience, as this book is her own testimony that I appreciate. She shows the devastation that bulimia can cause, but I am suspect of the recovered memory of a painful episode that, once dealt with in counseling, provides an "aha!" that unravels all the knots of a death's-door eating disorder. It's more neat than real life for many of us with similar problems who suffer in less dramatic ways the fallout of much worse traumas and/or those of longer duration...
