This was nothing spectacular, but after my last disaster of a book, it was greatly appreciated. Sam has been a vampire for the past six years and is trying to maintain some normalacy in her life. Sam is believable and likeable. I found myself rooting for her. I have the next five books in the series, and while I won't be climbing all over myself to read them, I hope to enjoy the continuing saga.
Sam is a former HUD investigator who was attacked and became a vampire. Now she is trying to continue her life as a mother, wife and private eye. She is hired to find who tried to kill a bigshot lawyer who is not quite what he seems. 3 stars
