I do enjoy this series. Though in this book she is 7 mos. pregnant and way more concerned and constantly thinking of her unborn child. No so much about her animals. Most of the story revolves around her maternal thoughts and imaginary conversations with the baby.
The dogs are barely mentioned and her horses need more attention and care than they are getting. This book just plain isn't as "horsy" as previous ones. She is understandably on maternity leave, so not much vet work is discussed. I am still glad I read it and am keeping up chronologically with this character. If you like the character and want to keep up with her, I do recommend reading it.
