This short audio book, can also be read. I listened to this story twice it was so amazing. How can one put into words what the author put into words? This is one to not miss. This book is so profound and poetic, it was worth every short minute of your time.
I wish I owned this, cause I borrowed it from the library. To me this is one of those books you want all your friends to enjoy.

Absolutely beautiful!!!! Boy oh boy can Mr. Backman reach in and touch a heart while one never even knows it's happening. The first time I listened to this CD I was in the car driving to an appointment. By the time I got there I was sobbing!!! Just a very touching story. It isn't just a story...it's also a lesson. A lovely lesson. I had to listen 2 more times. Each time it was touching. If you think you are interested in this disc filled with love, grab the tissues. This was so worth my time.

Fabulous writing. Lovely and insightful journey of a man with a disappearing memory, who hopes to prepare his grandson for that eventuality. Worth a listen.
It is not, however, enlivened by the humor of his full length books. He makes this clear at the beginning when proclaiming it was never intended for publication. It was his personal exploration of a friend's comment that when people age they sometimes lose their curiosity.My favorite line was about reaching an age when people stop telling you to do things like to grow up and act your age.
