This cookbook was perfect for me as my household is small. I like that the recipes are tailored for 2-3 people. The author explains how slow cooking works and offers a lot of tips like adding pasta and veggies in the last 30-60 minutes and never to put the crockery insert in the refrigerator or freezer as it could crack. There is even a conversion chart that gives the cooking time for conventional recipes and how long that same recipe will take in the slow cooker.
The cookbook is divided by the dish. There is a section on soups, chili, pasta and casseroles, chicken and turkey, pork and lamb, beef and veal, and a section on side dishes. The recipes are not the traditional dishes you think of for slow cookers. They are diverse and some do require a lot of ingredients. I do wish the cookbook had photos of the dishes.
