What a major disappointment. I know that this series has a huge following and that fans really love it, but I could not finish it. Soooooooo boring. It's like watching paint dry and felt like it was a reading assignment for a class that I hated. I've had problems with other cozy mysteries that I've tried to read before and have realized that it's a genre that I don't enjoy. Fans of Deborah Crombie and other cozy series will love this. I, on the other hand, will never read another one of her books.

I enjoyed the reader's British accent, the variety of small town characters (vicar, copper, masseuse, barkeep, man of all work) and the developing relationship between Gemma and Duncan. The mystery is about character rather than only forensics which is the way I prefer it.
