Great story as usual. Mrs. Jeffries has a relative in-law show up with a problem and she pulls out all the stops to help. Without Betsy and Smythe, they have taken the baby and gone to Canada, it's an extra challenge, but well handled. Nivens gets his taste of misfortune and it will be a great laugh for those of you who have read this series. This is the last one I have at the moment and I will miss the characters until my next one gets here. What a great series!!!!!

Mrs. Jeffries estranged sister in law shows up at Inspector Witherspoon's home seeking her help. It seems she may become the prime suspect in a murder investigation. The problem....the murder investigation is being led by their nemesis, the odious Inspector Nigel Nivens. What are Mrs. Jeffries and her team to do? Help her relative and by doing so help Nivens succeed in solving a murder case? To make matters worse, they are working short handed, as Betsey and Smythe and their baby daughter are off to Canada for a two month holiday to visit Betsey's sister. I was able to figure out "who dun it" , but it still is a wonderful addition to this series.
