Another book about the Inspectors household that was very enjoyable. The staff in this house are funny, kindly, helpful and very loving to one another. Each of them has their own skill set and uses it for the inspector and Constable Barnes. Inspector Nivens was fussing around in this one and it's always good to see him get his comeuppance. The addition of Mrs. Goodges' old auntie was a fun addition, gives comic relief at times. Luty and Hatcher are in this one also. As usual I throughly enjoyed this story.

Once again, I was wrong about who the killer was. Another interesting Who-done-it with Mrs. Jeffries and the whole crew. The motive is money, but there is room for further development of the characters. Wiggins earns praise for his heroism and maybe finds a girl. Then there is the reward Betsy gives Smythe.
