Book # 4 in the Mrs. Jeffries series. Takes place during the early days at the Inspector's house, and does a nice job of character development. We learn more about Betsy, Wiggins, Luty & Hatchett. While Mrs. Jeffries and company helps the Inspector with a difficult case, the Inspector decides to take cost-cutting measures and the household tries their best to accede to his wishes, while taking matters into their own hands to try to get him to reverse his decision. Great read!
Liked this story very much. As usual was great with all the characters. Wonderful cozy series.
