The title of this book intrigued me, so I read it. It a delightful cozy mystery set in WWII in a small town in Northern California. Mrs. Odboddy is an older woman who was a spy in WWI but is now an ordinary patriotic citizen. She keeps seeing enemy spies everywhere and lets Police Chief Waddlemucker know about them. The police get a good laugh at her expense. She also says things to people that she highly embellishes. Everyone dismisses her talk. One of the things I like about this book is her type of hard hearing. It is the same as my husband's! She hears, âI have some Chinese plumbers on my roofâ but what was really said, âI have some prize cucumbers from Rufus.â Absolutely hysterical! Mrs. Odboddy is a unique heroine that is thoroughly likeable. The situations she gets involved with are hilarious! I highly recommend this book!
