Main character great as usual. Good story and good mystery.
Mrs. Pargeter returns. Readers everywhere will welcome the witty, wise, and resourceful lady whose widowhood from the well connected but certainly unconventional Mr. Pargeter prompted a new career in sleuthing. Sleuth she may be, and a particularly good one at that-with the help of some of her late husband's shady friends-but at the moment she's looking forward to a glorious holiday on the beautiful Greek island of Corfu. Or perhaps not so glorious, as Melita Pargeter's traveling companion has made the arrangements for the two week package tour, and her standards don't quite meet Mrs. P.'s luxury expectations. Still, Corfu, with its seafront tavernas, its sunlit villas and dramatic coastline is one of the most beautiful places on earth. the setting alone almost guarantees a holiday to remember.
This is a neat little hardback in great condition. One of a series of mysteries involving an elderly, recently widowed sleuth, who attacks life with an adventuresome spirit, always grounded with common sense and alert senses --similar to Christie's Miss Marple.
