This is a great, easy to read guide about the basics of multiple sclerosis. I would recommend this book as a good place to start for someone newly diagnosed. It's written in layman's terms and is very easy to relate to. The author also gives some tidbits of her own experience which I found very helpful. The book is well-written and has excellent information about coping with MS and the various treatment options available (though there have been some minor new developments in treatment options since this was published).
The author also offers some great recommendations for various support and research organizations. Of the three MS books I've read so far, this one has been the most helpful to me. This book is also very optimistic about living with the disease and the outlook for a cure within our generation.

My father has MS. This book is written so any one can read without all the technobabble. As the author has MS it is great to hear from someone who has also had similar problems. Great for helping me see what he is going through and what to do to encourage him. Highly recommend for those new or beginning to understand MS.
