Every once in awhile you run across a book that really grabs you from the beginning and becomes one of your favorite series. 'Murder at the Breakers' is such a book for me. The main character is a wonderful and independent woman for her time. The other characters are well developed for the first book and the historical elements lend a great background for the novel. If you like historical mystery fiction, try out this series.

This is a very enjoyable mystery! The protagonist is a wonderful character I had to root for. She is caring and independent. I didn't really guess the murderer. It is well rounded and well done! I look forward to the next in this pleasantly surprising series.
